Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy

The most traditional festival in the Alps, bringing together music and tourism of the finest quality in Gstaad and the entire region of Saanenland since 1957. True to the spirit of Yehudi Menuhin, the 7-week long, yearly summer Festival combines star-studded concerts with the top artists of the classical music world with numerous Academy, children and amateur projects as well as concert series for young emerging artists.

Gstaad Festival Orchestra (GFO)

I founded the GFO in 2010 following the steps of the legendary Swiss Festspielorchester: gather the best musicians from Swiss orchestras together with hand-picked students to prepare ambitious programmes under the baton of a renowned conductor and perform them in concerts in Gstaad and across neighbouring regions. In addition, the GFO issues a hefty composition commission every year. The GFO is an integral part of the Gstaad Conducting Academy since 2014.

Gstaad-Academy

At the Gstaad Academy, we encourage Menuhin’s legacy, offering students and teachers a relaxed atmosphere during the summer months in Gstaad where they can experience Festival life. The Gstaad Academy has grown steadily since 2007. In addition to the original vocal and piano Academy with Silvana Bazzoni Bartoli and Andras Schiff, there are currently 5 other Academies in place including the centrepiece of the whole project: The Gstaad Conducting Academy, the only of its kind in Europe, offering 15 selected Orchestral Conducting students daily workshops and weekly Academy concerts with the Gstaad Festival Orchestra, under the tutelage of renowned Maestros. Since 2017 the Gstaad Conducting Academy is lead by the Music Director of New York Philharmonic, Jaap van Zweden, and by the head of teaching, Johannes Schlaefli.

The first edition of the BCC shall take place in February 2017 and was created and launched in October 2015.

Since the establishment of Swiss classics together with musician friends Regula Schär and David Hautle in 1999, our project Lucerne Chamber Circle in the city of Lucerne has established itself as a reputed concert series featuring mainly baroque and classical programmes. Through the years we have also developed the ticketing system Kulturticket.ch in partnership with the successful German platform reserviX among other undertakings, including a new series in the Basel region: "Classiques" in Landgasthof Riehen, which continues the legacy of the 60-year series "Kunst in Riehen "

Solsberg Festival

In 2006, I created Solsberg Festival in collaboration with cellist Sol Gabetta. Since then, the Festival has become an established feature in the cultural offer of northwestern Switzerland. During the month of June, historic venues such as Olsberg Monastery or the Stadtkirche Rheinfelden come to live with music. In 2015, the Festival widened its horizons and expanded into fascinating halls across the southern German regions of Markgräflerland and the Black Forest.

Cappella Gabetta

The Cappella Gabetta is the Gabettas’ "family orchestra". The ensemble is directed by baroque violinist Andrés Gabetta and produces a yearly output of ca. 4 to 6 concert projects and CD recordings, featuring mainly Italian baroque music. In addition to the main repertoire such as works by Vivaldi, Corelli or Porpora, Cappella Gabetta often present many newly-found and fascinating baroque music including works by Platti, Zavateri, Chelleri, Torri and Ragazzi amongst others.

Klassik Sterne Rheinfelden

The city of Rheinfelden has kindly allowed the creation of the concert series Klassiksterne Rheinfelden, taking place since the 2011/12 season at the city’s newly refurbished Kurbrunnen-Saal. For this concert series, star cellist Sol Gabetta invites her close musician friends to perform chamber music recitals, taking part herself on exceptional occasions.

Das Haus wird ein "Hub" der Musikszene werden: Neben Proben- und Konzerträumen bietet es auch rund 30 Büroarbeitsplätze sowie Lager-, Archiv- und Gastroräume an. In the new music and cultural center Don Bosco Basel we are launching a new mini-festival with the leading a cappella ensembles of Europe. The perfection of pure vocal voices is heartwarming and fascinating: this is what we want to make sound and experience for the first time in 3 concerts and a workshop between Christmas and New Year 2020.
