Christoph N.F. Müller

For almost 25 years I have devoted myself to music management. For years, my work in this field ran parallel to my activities as cellist.
Both fields of work encourage me to question most things and shed light on their evolution throughout time, which in turn has often led
to new ideas and projects. That is the best part of my job, but I couldn’t do it without the help of our teams at Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy, Kammerorchester Basel, Hochrhein Musikfestival, Artistic Management and Swiss Classics.

My various hats as producer, director and promoter pose challenges to each other and offer me – and the institutions I am responsible for - the inspiration and drive to continue.

After difficult years during the coronavirus pandemic, the cultural sector has recovered but is still facing major challenges. The mix of audiences, audience demand and the demands placed on musical events and projects are changing rapidly. Decades-old business models and event structures urgently need to be questioned. Nevertheless, people's longing for music and the emotional experiences associated with it remains. It is up to us creators to deal carefully with this valuable human need and to realize projects that fulfill these desires and at the same time are broadly supported and economically feasible. We need to develop visions and implement them! I will work with great motivation and pleasure for a colorful and exciting future concert landscape.
